Burn Rate is a live meeting cost calculator you run in the browser. Type in how many people are in the room and their average salary, hit Start, and a dollar figure climbs several times a second for as long as the meeting runs. Instead of a static total you read after the call, you see the cost of the meeting as a live counter the whole room can watch while it is still happening.
Most calculators hand you one number once the meeting is over, and that number is easy to ignore. Burn Rate answers "how much does this meeting cost" in real time, while there is still time to end the call early. Screen-share the tab or paste the link into the meeting chat and every attendee sees the same running total.
View on GitHubThe math is deliberately plain, so it holds up if someone in the room asks about it. Each salary is converted to a per-second rate over a standard 2,080-hour work year (40 hours a week, 52 weeks), then multiplied by the headcount. There are no invented multipliers and no "meeting tax". Ten people earning an average of $120,000 a year burn about $9.62 every minute they spend in a meeting together, or roughly $577 an hour.
